Special Olympics Opening Eyes Program
The Florida Optometric Association Charities helps administer the Special Olympics Lions Club International Foundation Opening Eyes Program. This event is held annually in conjunction with the Special Olympics. The Opening Eyes Program assists people with developmental disabilities by improving and expanding their access to eye care.

In 2003, The screenings will be held on the afternoon Friday, April 25th, and all day on Saturday, April 26th in the Sun Dome at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Volunteer doctors are asked to bring their hand instruments and handles. Jeppesen VisionQuest, Inc., will provide the ophthalmic lenses, and Liberty Optical will supply sports vision frames for any athlete in need.

Anyone interested in participating as a volunteer or making a donation please contact Dr. Adele Paul, State Coordinator, at (305) 856-6518 or email at dradele@bellsouth.net.
